My wife has pickled all sorts of stuff: Green beans, eggs, in addition to what was mentioned.
She tried pickling a few things and liked the results but not the work, until she stumbled on the easy pickling kits. Not sure where she got them, but it has everything you need to pickle already prepared, you just fill jars with what you want pickled, mix up enough of the stuff to fill the jars, and let it sit a while. They have a chart/guide how to mix the brine depending on what you want to pickle, and different brine mixes. She even commented it doesn't hardly cost any more than mixing up your own because everything is already measured out, so there is no waste. Maybe not 'quite' as good as when she did it all from scratch, but darn close, and she is much happier about it.
