My mom's situation very similar. Glassy eyed, tried to talk and couldn't, we carried her to the hospital, in a few hours back to normal and they would send her home. This happened several times, the last time we took her to the  bigger hospital 35 miles away, a neurologist saw her, put all those sticky things all over head for 24 hours, turned out to be mini seizures. Put her on 2 medicines, pretty much stopped that issue. This was tough and happened a lot and we couldn't get any help. When it was over, she was fine. Good luck.
