Subject: insulin and hypertrophic fat cell growth

Pittsburg, Kansas

A very in depth discussion of fat accumulation in the body. Dr Benjamin Bikman (PHD) is an insulin researcher. As a diabetic I listen to any interview of him I can find. A lot of the interviews cover the same topics but I will pick up nuances each time he is interviewed, based on what the interviewer asks as questions or steers the discussion. This is one such interview.

A fat cell can only grow if two metabolic conditions are met. There has to be sufficient calories (energy) and there has to be elevated insulin. Either one in the absence of the other fat cells can not grow.

The brain prefers ketones. People concerned with dementia take note.
