Subject: RE: The Cone Of Shame - Kitten Content

Central Nebraska

My daughter's favorite mama cat tried to steal a dead baby rabbit from my Lab last summer.  In the process she got half her face skin removed and a fractured skull.  It was a Sunday so the vet was closed and I agreed to take her in on Monday morning if she was still alive.  To my surprise she was waiting at the back door Monday morning and let me pick her up so off to the vet we went.  I think she got a dozen stitches to keep her face together from between her eyes around the back of her right ear.  She wore the cone of shame for several weeks and had to stay in the house to keep the flies off her.  It is amazing what vets will do for $250.  She's had three litters of kittens since then and finally kept 5 out of 6 alive for more than a month.  Over winter she lost part of her ear to the cold.  I think she had poor blood flow from the injury.
