Cat 320 excavator. Left boom cylinder is leaking from the seal. Has been for the last 25-30 hours. I’ve been told it’s a good idea to replace the seal in the other cylinder at the same time. Since the leak, the right side has been carrying more load. Fix the left and the right will be soon to follow. What say you? Pull em both?

It usually has more to do with wear than load. Dust and dirt get into the seals and abrade the seals and the cylinder rod. Left too long, you can get catastrophic damage. There's probably about the same amount of wear on both cylinders.
