North West IA/western AZ | Especially if you have any heart disease in the family history. CAC is a CT scan of the heart which will show calcium. The only reason for calcium to be in the blood vessels is to "patch up" areas of soft plaque on the walls. You may think, I have never been high in cholesterol and my BP is fine, why would I need to be tested. It is a super simple test that is non invasive and takes less than 10 minutes but it will tell you if you have arterial disease before the next most likely tell (heart attach). I just got the news that mine was bad (429). I have gone keto about 3 months ago and am scheduled for a stress test now. If that show up ok, I'll just keep away from carbs and seed oil and hope for the best.
I think the age of 50 wouldn't be too young if there is family history. Otherwise maybe put it off until 60. For the medical doctors to not even mention it seems like another strike against them. I found out by watching the YouTube videos JB posts. | |
