Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I'm also old enough to remember we didn't grow dry land corn here. Cultural practices such as no-till and use of chemicals changed that. The wheat belt has moved west 100 miles.
We seem to be drier in the March-April time frame than we used to be. Also, we go longer stretches between rain events but when it does get wet, it gets very wet or now it seems like when there is a rain event it sometimes just pours. Case in point west of me a couple weeks ago of 5-10" of rain in hours. |
