North Dakota | It recommends seeding 1/4" deep but if there is no moisture at that depth do you place it in moisture or 1/4" deep and hope it rains timely??
Alfalfa is my choice to control weeds for now. Rotate every 5 years. Let grow on 5th year and use Wishek Disk to try to put it roots up for a good winter kill, plant in the ground for next year's crop.
My version of summer fallow the 5th year.
