I have heard that Brillion makes a very good grass drill but I have to try it with the Truax I have until it becomes obvious it will not work. $$ economics
I have a 20' land roller. With sandy soil to try for the 1/4" I will have to land roll first to get a flat seed bed then I may be able to control my depth.
Heard talk of guys seeding alfalfa in the dead of winter on frozen ground with a disk drill to get the 1/4". Could something like that work?

I would roll it until it's pretty hard. Then your drill will have a easier time trying to maintain depth. Then roll it again after drilling.
