My oldest got hers when she went to middle school, youngest will too. That's when sports and after school activities seem to ramp up and it's nice to be able to let them know who is picking them up or if they need picked up earlier it practice is canceled or shortened. My oldest really surprised me on how little she uses her phone. Shes not glued to it like many others I see.
