At the end of each WASDE, statistical anaylsis is done for that particular reporting month. The high, low, average difference between each month and the final numbers in production, consumption, and ending stocks are made. May WASDE's are large due to them being the first detailed new crop numbers. So years like 2012, 1993 show the large change to final.
