Subject: RE: 1770nt and STMM

North Central Iowa

I run a 1760NT with STMM and row shutoff. I put the modules on the planter draw bar. We have a rock box/tray where we keep bag of seed, talc, toolbox, etc. and I mounted the modules to that. Works great there and didn't have to run cables through drawbar frame as it was already fairly full of hoses and JD wires. I also added a rubber mat cover to help protect the wires and modules and still easy to access. I've uploaded some photos to show what it looks like.

As for whisker switch, we originally had it on the parallel arms like AgLeader suggested but it would kick out every so often when that row unit dropped into low spot, washout, etc. Two years ago I found an electronic switch that runs off the hydraulic system on the planter. Cost about $140 from a company called Red-E and had it on in 5 minutes and another 5 minutes to set the sensitivity. I've attached photos of that and the company info.

Hope this helps. Kevin
