Subject: RE: Phase Converters

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
I have bought from North American Phase converters New Berlin, WI 53151. Toll Free 877-545-2926 you will probably talk to Jay ot Matt
tell them what you are doing they are very helpful with sizing
We usually buy on Ebay or some place cheap a 3 phase TEFC (totally Enclosed Fan Cooled "totally enclosed keeps the mice out") used motor of the right size Bearings are easy and reasonable to replace
Buy the Controll panel from North American -(been a year or two BUT were a little over $1000 for a controll panel for a 75 HP Idler motor "big enough to start 30 HP water pump and run a 9 tower Valley Irrigator" )
30 amps 240V is not a big pull you "probably" will need only a 40 Hp or less idler motor
-they will help with wire size or ask on NAT for wire sizes (be sure you use big enough wire)

I like rotary phase converters -because I understand them better than VFD And buying a used idler motor makes them cheap

Dan

Some rotary phase converters will burn wires if operated more than 15 min or so with no load --North Americans can run no load, no damage BTDT
