I use a qt. Of crossbow in 3qt. Of diesel. On trees that sucker badly, I coat the stump and any bark exposed above ground. On smaller trees (5” or less), just coating the bark from about 20” down to the ground usually takes them out.
This is all done in the winter and late winter to early spring.
