I’m not sure the purpose of a hold backed currency is world domination. Its biggest benefit might be that it greatly reduces manipulation of the currency value by outside sources. Perhaps the protector from manipulation by foreign entities is why foreign entities didn’t like it. The BRICS likely strike the same fear into some entities also.
