Middlesex County, Ontario | I would not connect a windows XP computer with sensitive files to the internet, and I would not enter in any sensitive (banking) information on a web browser in Windows XP. Microsoft ended Windows XP support in 2014, 8 years ago. I don't know what web browser you are using, but it is likely years out of date and missing security updates.
Its not like you're going to automatically get hacked if you use the internet on windows xp, its just that clicking on the wrong thing isn't going to give you a "this looks suspicious" warning, or if you run something you downloaded it isn't automatically going to get stopped and quarantined.
The out of the box win10 experience is bloated. There are many things you can do to turn off windows bloat, and there are things you can do to make win10 look more like windows xp.
