West of Broken Bow | Yep, all I ever knew was toughing it out. My siblings and I were never carried to the ER unless it was a true emergency. I’m used to living far away from any hospital or town. I only go see a doctor unless it’s serious. The PT folks in the hospital couldn’t seem to understand why I wasn’t like most of their patients that complain and moan about every little bump or taking bitter meds.

A physical injury analyst from the state came by once to offer help on work place injury prevention. She explained the pain difference from one class of worker to another. The people whom work on keyboards in state offices she said have the most work place pain reports. We discussed this and came to the conclusion if you never have pain any pain becomes really bad in your life. She said there are almost no pain complaints in farming/fishing,/forestry ,,,where all the really bad injuries exist..we tough it up our whole lives...She seemed to think the office people would runaway screaming the first day.. |
