| Daughter will be a senior in College this year and we bought her a Macbook Pro the start of her freshman year and still in tiptop shape! Not the way expensive one, but like the $1,000 one. Small hardrive 125GB which she planned on saving to the cloud or thumbdrives anyhow, so this is part of the reason on saving some $$
Also depends if you have apple Iphone, which slants your choice this way big time, as it obviously connects and mirrors all the apple apps you are already using, including facetime right on the macbook.
she said she would never have wanted anything else.
Microsoft office works well on here also just FYI
If using windows based programs, then you will have to reconsider this option.
