Pretty constant I'd say, but definitely rpm sensitive.  Around 350 is the worst, both at slow belt speed/half throttle, or at idle with the variable sped up some.  It's mostly tolerable at platform operating speed, but still enough to fatigue my nerves over time, as well as the broken threaded rod.
