North Central Illinois
I actually pull grooves with the planter. I decided to mount this cultivator for a couple fields with sharp point rows since I can get in tighter lifting one side at a time. Then I figured I'd just run this last field with it too since I've already got it adjusted the way I want it.

Yeah, at this stage I'm somewhere over 2 mph running one shield only. There's too much rye residue to run both shields AND run the shanks this close together. Hanging one shield over the row keeps a part in the wave of soil and let's the beans have a crack to pop back out of.

If I waited until early next week I could run 3.5-4 mph. However, the wheat will be ready to cut pretty promptly and I've learned that I should always take the first opportunity when the soil is fit. The 30% chance of 1/4" of rain could be nothing or it could turn into 3" and I'd be behind the game again.
