North of London | A lot of people forget or have never followed international news enough to realize that Russia invaded Ukraine 8 years ago and took over parts of the country.
Fighting has been on going since then with Ukraine taking back part of what Russia originally occupied.
There have been a number of ceasefires but none that fully ended the fighting.
So Russia tried again to take over the entire country with the new attacks in February.
So what would you want Ukraine to do?
Would you just sue for peace and give up parts of the US if your country was attacked by another country and partially occupied ?
Suing for peace with an invaded just means the invaders will invade another part or another country since it paid off with ceded territory.
It is like paying kidnappers, it only rewards the so they will kidnap someone else for more $$ again.
The final answer is not to sue for peace but rather throw the invaders out of all the territory they have illegally occupied.
And yes we living peacefully in North America will pay for the fighting there with increased costs and higher security costs too but that is cheap compared to the costs of not helping Ukraine until they are successful in removing the Russians from all of their territory. | |
