We did not have trouble wrapping. A few years ago we had rye of similar size, if not a little bigger, that we sprayed a week or two before panting. That was a mistake! It wrapped something terrible and was a nightmare to plant. When it gets bigger you pretty much have to plant it green. Before or within a couple days of spraying.

Otherwise you run the risk of of it wrapping and plugging and staying wet underneath.

Honestly I prefer to always plant it green
