We bale graze the knobs of the fields all winter and when it turns to mud we pull them off and run a 1 strand wire close to the barn until it freezes in the fall/winter or dries out enough where the cowpaction doesn’t affect it in the spring. If the residue from the bale grazing is thick I’ll see a 10% drop in population in spots, but they also won’t burn up when we don’t get rain because the residue holds all the water which is why we are doing it. The knobs burnt up every year until we started this project.
