Stop with the drill torqued forward in a representative area of the field (apply brake as soon as you stop to prevent the drill settling backwards). Try to spin random gauge wheels, they should be firm against the soil to achieve consistent seeding depth. If you can spin some of the gauge wheels, you need more down pressure. If your non-drive wheel (on a 10/15') starts to raise up above the ground when more down pressure is added, then you need more ballast to stop the frame lifting.

IMPORTANT - The 4x4" rockshafts will likely need to be angled forward by 3-5 degrees (relative to the frame) in hard/dry soils, ignore the pressure gauge as some are off!
