South Central Illinois

Incredibly dry now.
Wanting to set the depth on the drill.
Preferably in the shop.
7 notches on the depth adjustment.
Currently on #6
It was a replant situation, going for moisture.
Maybe 1-1/2” + deep.
It was on #5 for the wheat.
That was probably 1”+ deep.
Should I go back to the wheat setting?
How much does each notch charge the depth?
I could go with #4, seems like this would be on the shallow side.
Thinking, set it while it is in the shed.
Going to need multiple inches of rain to make this work.
I have seed for 180,000 population.
Should be able to cut the straw and cover most of them up.
Do I need more than 180,000?
