Subject: RE: Copper sulfate question

Copper is one of the essential element. One of the most lacking on the central coast of California as far as cattle nutrient go. Sheep on the other hand don't near as much. The high copper mineral supplement we use for cattle has a warning about sheep and horses should not fed any. Putting copper sulfate in the water troughs is one way to supplement. Keeping the water clear is a side benefit. But if you have mosquito eating or goldfish in your troughs it will kill them. So another trade off.
