Thumb of Michigan
Have a couple of Gallaghers MB1000? They don't make any more, replacement is a MB1100, I think. Just bought a Speedrite 12000i, needed a back-up having one of the Gallaghers repaired, right now. The Speedrite, is either battery/solar or 110v.

Wanted the shut off feature, Gallagher has it but more $$$$ than Speedrite.

I like 10+ joules, because if fence gets knocked down, still can have a little tickle on the far end.

First Gallagher I bought was like 6 joules, couple of days after I had it hooked up, I checked the end of the fence. Hmmm, only one light (back in the days of using light testers). Back tracked the fence, found the problem, wire was knocked off the post, with 20' or better laying in the creek. Never looked back at cheap fencers again. Was tiring of every time it rained, weeds/grass would lay on fence and cows knew it, heading for greener pastures. The Gallagher put an end to that nonsense.

FWIW, both Gallagher and Speedrite, seem to be the most 'repairable'.
