Subject: RE: Tillage radish planted in corn

South Central MN
Dabbled with that in corn on a field here a couple years, they never really amounted to much except on the ends or were the corn was thin/missing. They won't do much of anything over the summer where the stand is good, and if they can survive to the fall won't do much until the corn leaves die. Did one year with a forage kale and it did better, but have not tried anything since.

It will work better if you are getting some light to the ground, but often that means the corn is giving up some yield. Had better luck with shorter stature corn with a more upright leaf structure, as well as earlier maturity ones the year I did a test plot. Would like to try it again but will need a Gandy box on the sidedress applicator first.

Up here in MN the earlier the interseed stuff was planted the better it did, knee high+ did not work as well. Your luck may vary.
