| A typical desktop computer cd drive is connected through a 40 pin ide ribbon cable. And it is typically powered through a 4 pin power cable. Every laptop I have ever worked with has a proprietary cd drive connector, which is not at all compatable with an ide ribbon cable. Your best bet may be to contact the laptop manufacturer for guidance, or spring for ~$15 to buy a usb floppy drive. Good luck. | |
