It's not like it is all that hard to make it 'foolproof.'  All you have to do is source the oil to fill the clutch packs somewhere ABOVE where the lube oil comes from.   As long as you have oil to make the clutch engage, then you will have oil to lube the transmission. 

 

Now, that doesn't help so much if you knock the differential lube pipe off, but it solves the "ran out of oil" problem.
