What kind of tralley system are you using? If you can widen out the trolley so that the load isnt concentrated on a single point in the center of the span that will help you out a bit. Others might be able to answer this , but wear is the critical part of the I-beam in an application like this? Is it the web of the beam that provides the strength or the flange on which the trolley rolls? Could bar stock be welded to the upper flange to add strength??
Trolly would be narrow so it will slide close to the ends and have 4 bolts with 4 bearings as rollers. |
