Ours (3630) went without warning this year. Hired man says he never saw it get hot but one piston was burned completely up and ruined the head. In my opinion you REALLY need someone experienced with those motors to take a look at it. People experienced with those motors are definitely getting harder to come by. Our mechanic was able to get a replacement head for it and we bought a new piston and it's back to running for now. Every cummins conversion I ever heard of was because the motor was blown so I don't know if you'd have any luck finding a used motor. You got a better price than I did on the cummins conversion. It was about $12,000 according to the website and there would be labor on top of that. I didn't figure the sprayer was worth what all that would add up to. Good luck.
