There is a screen on the suction line of the pump. A pain to get out. Checked mine this spring, was fine, found out that #4 spools were leaking internally. Changed fan hoses to #3 turned up the flow control and finished fine. You may have to adjust the linkage on the flow control if you do this. It is on the front of the valve block. You can tell by where the roll pin ends up if it is adjusted for max flow.
