Wisconsin
The hex shaft isn't that scary I twisted the original slightly pulled it out slowly twisting as it came out no problem. Slid new shaft in and used for many year's boss got into a discarded bedspring mattress that destroyed 2 gearbox's but shaft was fine. I custom cut for a neighbor and jammed a rock between gearboxes and yes that twisted the shaft so bad that every gearbox had to get taken off and the shaft torched in between them but still had the machine going again in under 6 hour's learning as we went. No shaft at dealer so I put the slightly twisted one in that has run for a good 2 year's put the new shaft in yesterday as getting it ready and had to check the gearboxes anyway. If it's a late model they are to have stub shaft's between boxes but I haven't seen that personally. Like I said previously 1-NI,2-Hesston,3-NH,and JD and other's. If you want the best conditioner and want to stay with a sickle mower Mac Don hand's down.
