They are about the best there is for beans. Easy on seed, and set it to the population you want and forget about seed size. If you're talking a front fold, there's two downsides. They are HEAVY. They are heavy on the tongue when folded, and they have quite a bit of negative tongue weight in the field when turning. A neighbor is pulling one with a CaseIH 7130 MFD and he says he doesn't have enough tractor. The guy that had it before him pulled it with and STX 275 and said that was the berries on that planter. I'm currently planting beans with a 5400 SB special drill. So far, much happier with it than the 5400 mintill drill I was doing beans with before. Still have the other drill for wheat and grass.
