| Well the Challenger with the AGCO CVT is going to have the best overall powertrain in my opinion. It will be very hard for a JD engine to beat the CAT-Perkins engine in the Challenger for fuel economy. The AGCO CVT is also a simpler design than JD's IVT and is more proven to hold up over long hours and is more efficient than the JD. That all adds up to a powertrain that is going to be very easy on fuel. Guessing the Puma has an Iveco-based engine?? The Challenger is based on the MF tractor, and these are some of the best-selling tractors in the world, and in that class, are very tough to beat. If I were going to own one for the long haul, it would be the Challenger because it should be the best return on investment and has the best powertrain. | |
