For marking rocks, I'd look for a couple of things, one is buttons on the front of the unit, some have them at the side.
The other thing is for me, the really small ones like the Etrexs are hard to use. Too much hand too little gps.
Personal preference things. Thought I'd mention them so you can consider them.
