The tractor has a two stage clutch for the PTO. When I first try to engage the PTO it just grinds like the clutch is not disengaging. I shut the tractor off...put pto in gear...restart tractor and the two stage clutch works fine the rest of the day, I can engage and disengage the clutch when ever I want. The next day it's the same thing all over again.
I did drive all over a few fields, looking at some new tile ditches the other day (golf cart thing) , and the pto would engage the first time...running the tractor for a good while broke it loose.
This is probably something I'm not going to fix, but would like to know what is happening.
