| 20 plus years ago I built my first rc plane. Learned to fly in the front yard after learning to rebuild crashed planes. The last I was around anyone flying rc I was amazed at how equipment has changed. Radio frequencies, which are really, really important, have almost all changed since I last flew. There is a lot of older stuff for sale but you need to know what is safely usable if you go that route. Myself, I enjoyed building and learning how aircraft function as much as flying.
I think most on here have advised to visit with experienced rc pilots or clubs before you purchase the first piece. I totally agree with that advice.
It is a very enjoyable hobby, and like all hobbies you can throw as much money at it as you want.
Best of luck to you. Enjoy! | |
