My first one was a Montgomery Ward, pretty sure a rebranded Amana, that one lasted until it got hit by lightning. Bought it in about 1980, the year before I got married.

I am glad you have had good luck with Sharps. My experience has been different. :(

I have a sister that has had incredibly bad service from GE. The GE products I have had have been just fine.

I have owned two Fords in my life, both unbelievable POS's. I know several families that run Fords just about forever with no problems.

Why is it? Karma? Chemistry? I don't know the reason, but I choose not to fight it. I stick with what has served me well.
