| About 10 yrs ago I went the el cheapo route and purchased a Walmart special Magic Chef microwave with a dial timer on it to replace a GE with digital readout that had gone schizo.
This Magic Chef was the cheapest model WM had at the time (IIRC about $80) and still works fine. Even has a turntable which I consider a bonus which the GE didn't have. The downfall is the dial timer has never been too accurate. You can't just set it and walk off and do something else. I miss the digital timer that I could trust to nuke for exactly the time I set it for. I've burnt more microwave popcorn and boiled cups of coffee over in this thing than I can count.
Moral of the story FWIW, I will never buy a microwave with a dial timer again. | |
