Ontario, Canada | I was always told you shouldn't keep deli meats past 5 days once opened. Other types of meat are different, 2-3 days at most. Bacon I think would fall under deli meat. I don't think you really can tell if meat is not safe... well, they say it will smell pretty bad... however, if you cook the hell out of it, it doesn't matter what it's infected with, it won't hurt you (since cooking it will kill any bugs). Just fry it close to burnt and and it should be fine ;)
