Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | Was planting late in the evening with the little Steiger, almost dark, but wanted to finish this little area by the grove of trees. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something white come up over the top of one of the left front tires, thought "what the heck was that". On the next revolution of the wheel I stopped because the white thing was still there. Climbed out on the wheels, and yep, there was an antler with two points buried in the tire.
Could not leave it in there so pulled it out hoping the points were not deep enough to puncture the tube. Wrong, air whistled out of those holes Lucky the tractor has duals so I could drive it home. Oh goody, now I can call the only tire truck ( Carrington, 60 miles away) to repair ($150) or replace ($600-1000) the tire. | |
