I don't believe you said what brand planter you have, but I have a CaseIH 1200 with dual 200 Gal tanks with a hyd. drive and have the return lines also. I have my return valves all the way closed, figuring I don't need to agitate my starter/28 fertilizer blend. If I leave them closed I figure it's that much less product the pump needs to pump, the flowmeter will still send the right amount to the rows.
