Finished harvest on friday. Had all beans. Weather was on our side this year with a wet spell in late June and July. No pooling of water. Timely rains and no drought. The wet weather in July caused some white mold on fields which were planted narrow rows and too thick. There was some brown stem rot around but set in too late to cause any major yield loss on our farm. All fields were 30" rows on ridges. Harvest moisture was 14% with a yield around 1.5 mt/a ( 55 bu ). The lowest came in at 1.2 ( 44 bu ) and the highest at 1.9 ( 70 bu ). This was one of our best years. You couldn't tell by looking at the beans what they would bring as some fields would surprise you and some would disappoint. Seems that spots where beans should have been worse, were better this year. Here are some pics I took of our last day. I've been pretty lazy with the camera this year. Wet snow in the forecast for the coming week. so I'm glad they're off.
