Subject: RE: Triple Vs Conventional.........

Central, IL
I have a 16 row planter and four rows are refuge corn. I am picking 8 rows and only 4 of them (half the head) are refuge the other half is Triple. On the next pass eight rows are all triple stack. When the head is full of triple stack the corn is by far better. I see the yield reduction when the conventional is being picked. Last year I had a 12 row planter and six row head with 3 rows of refuge. I stradled the bulk row with the corn head and picked the refuge rows all together. Then the next 2 rounds would be all triple stack. There were streaks in my yield maps from the difference in yields. I now this is not set in stone science but when your in the combine it makes you think.

Now for the Monsanto topic. I dont like them any better than any of you. Most of the chemicals I use are generic or from another company besides them. I do plant alot of Dekalb along with other brands. What it boils down to is who can put the most bushels in my bin, be it Dekalb to whoever.
