I would assume that if the farmer had on-farm bin space, and the cash and futures markets were showing strong carries, that the "grain merchandising 101" decision would be to store the crop......if the board carries collapse, basis on the front end strengthens, and you are paying commercial storage rates, the decision of how to manage upside might be a different conclusion.
