My grandfather bought first herfies on this place in 1963.
Horned of course.
Those old long horned cows were nothing to frig with.
Only time we did not have a 100% calf crop was when twins were involved.
When my Dad took over place he started breeding polled.
Wheels fell off within 6 years. 3 Bulls.
We did more work with polled cattle than they did for themselves.
Prolapses did it for us. Spent a fortune on Vet bills till we got rid of em.
I work with not for my cattle now days.
Got 4 polled Herefords here about 7 years ago.
Soon as price for cows come up some they are gone.
I will be 100% horned cattle.
God made cattle with horns. Period.
