If the crankcase is full of gas and the tractor has the automatic oil pressure operated fuel shutoff you most likely have a perforated diaphragm above the sediment bowl. The diaphragm has oil on one side and gas on the other side. When it perforates gas gets through the diaphragm and into the oil and flows back through the oil pressure line and into the crankcase when the engine is not running. Replacing the diaphragm with a good quality diaphragm is easier and quicker than butchering the system up by replacing the automatic shutoff with a manual valve. If your tractor has the factory manual shutoff or a home made manual shutoff your carburetor float is running over. Shutting off the gas can stop this but you really do need to replace the flap valve as soon as you can.
