coast of Maine | Last two in the 2 local counties I farm in, left this year.Land I farm was once all small dairies.Before that in the 1800's there were almost all sheep farms,,they all left when wool price was near zero,,moved out west and now are some of your ancestors.Dairy guys left in the last 25 years as income levels dropped and not many loving the 24/7 life,,almost did the dairy route out of college ,,Where the money was back then,,,,good decision to not I think.. | |
